Group Supervision for Counsellors | Confident Clinician Circle
For counsellors, therapists and coaches in their first five years of practice

Supervision that builds your confidence, not just your logbook

Two hours a month in a small group of no more than 6. One hour on a topic that matters in real practice, one hour of structured group supervision, and a community that actually gets it.

From $97 a month. Two groups, 6 seats each.

  • 25+ yearsin clinical practice
  • ACA SupervisorLevel 4 member
  • 15 yearsteaching counsellors at Curtin University
  • DirectorGrief Recovery Institute of Australasia

Nobody tells you how lonely private practice can feel.

  • You finish a heavy session and there's no one down the hall to debrief with.
  • You second-guess your clinical calls long after the client has left.
  • You quietly wonder if everyone else knows something you don't.
  • You need supervision hours, but finding a supervisor who fits (and one you can afford every month) feels like another job.
  • You trained to be a clinician, not a business owner, and the business side keeps you up at night.

And when you carry all of that alone, it doesn't just drain you. It shows up in the room with your clients.

You're not failing. You're unsupported.

In my 25+ years of practice, and 15 years teaching counsellors at Curtin University, I've seen this pattern time and time again.

Talented, caring clinicians lose confidence not because they lack skill, but because they're doing this work in isolation.

The fix isn't another course. It's regular, honest supervision with people who understand the work.

That's exactly why I created The Confident Clinician Circle.

The membership

What is The Confident Clinician Circle?

The Confident Clinician Circle is an online monthly supervision membership for counsellors, therapists and life coaches, led by ACA Supervisor Amanda Lambros. Members meet on Zoom in groups of up to 6 for a two-hour session each month: one hour on a professional development topic and one hour of structured group supervision.

So that you can:

  • Meet your annual supervision requirements without the end-of-year scramble
  • Bring real cases and walk away with a clear next step
  • Trust your clinical judgement more, and question yourself less
  • Build the skills nobody covered properly in your training, one topic a month
  • Feel part of a professional community, not just a name on a register
Inside every session

How does the Circle work?

Each month your group meets for two hours on Zoom. Same people, same time, so trust builds fast.

Hour one

The monthly topic

A focused, practical conversation on one topic every clinician needs, from boundaries and risk to money and marketing. You'll leave with something you can use in your next session.

Hour two

Structured group supervision

Bring a case, a question or a stuck point. We work through it together using a clear structure, so everyone gets heard and every case gets a next step.

Small by design

Groups are capped at 6. Everyone gets real airtime, not a rushed five minutes.

Your supervision log

Your supervision hours are signed off for your renewal, so the paperwork is done.

Member portal

Templates, practice tools and resources you can use straight away.

Missed a session?

Join the other group that month if a seat is free. Life happens.

A safe space

Cases are de-identified and every group agrees on confidentiality from day one.

Silly questions welcome

Ask what you've been too embarrassed to ask anywhere else. That's what it's for.

Pick your group

Two groups. Six seats each.

Choose the time that suits your week. All times are Perth time (AWST).

Group A
First Monday of the month
4pm to 6pm AWST
Capped at 6 members
Group B
Second Sunday of the month
2pm to 4pm AWST
Capped at 6 members

When a group fills, new members go on the waitlist for the next one.

12 months, 12 topics

Your year inside the Circle

The topics clinicians tell me they wish someone had taught them properly.

Month 1

Getting the most from supervision

How to bring a case, what to ask, and how to turn feedback into action.

Month 2

Imposter syndrome in the therapy room

Where self-doubt comes from, and how to stop it running your sessions.

Month 3

Boundaries and ethics in private practice

Dual relationships, self-disclosure, and the grey areas nobody warns you about.

Month 4

Risk, safety and duty of care

Assessing risk, safety planning, and knowing when and how to act.

Month 5

Notes, records and privacy

Documentation that protects your clients and you.

Month 6

Grief and loss in every caseload

Recognising grief beyond death, and working with it confidently.

Month 7

Talking about sex and intimacy

How to raise it, respond to it, and stop avoiding it.

Month 8

Working with couples

First sessions, staying neutral, and not getting caught in the middle.

Month 9

Fees and the money conversation

Setting your fees, holding them, and talking money without guilt.

Month 10

Growing your practice ethically

Referral relationships, visibility and marketing that fits who you are.

Month 11

Vicarious trauma and burnout

Noticing the warning signs in yourself, and building care into your week.

Month 12

Endings, referrals and your year ahead

Closing well with clients, and reviewing your own growth.

Is the Circle right for you?

This is for you if...

  • You're in your first five years of practice, or moving from an organisation into private practice
  • You need reliable supervision hours for your ACA or PACFA renewal
  • You're a life coach who wants clinical-level guidance on ethics, boundaries and when to refer
  • You want honest feedback in a space where you can admit what you don't know yet

This isn't for you if...

  • You want someone to sign off your hours without engaging
  • You need weekly 1:1 supervision for a heavy or complex caseload
  • You're looking for personal therapy. That's a different, and important, space.

Imagine this

You walk into a tricky session already knowing who you'll talk it through with.

You stop replaying sessions at 11pm. You make a clinical call and trust it. Your renewal comes around and your hours are already logged.

And slowly, the voice that asks "who am I to be doing this?" gets quieter. Not because you've become someone else. Because you've finally got the support you should have had all along.

Who leads the Circle

Hey, I'm Amanda.

I've been a clinician for over 25 years, and I'm a registered ACA Supervisor and Level 4 member.

For 15 years I also taught at Curtin University, so I've watched a lot of brilliant clinicians take their first nervous steps into practice. I know what actually helps, and what's just noise.

  • ACA Supervisor, Level 4
  • Masters of Counselling
  • Masters of Forensic Sexology (first in the world)
  • Postgraduate Diploma of Ethics
  • Bachelor of Health Sciences
  • Grief Recovery trainer since 2008
  • Director, Grief Recovery Institute of Australasia
  • Town of Victoria Park 2024 Hall of Fame

This isn't theory. It's what I've seen work in my own counselling room and with the clinicians I've supervised and taught. And it's what the Circle is built on.

Frequently asked questions

Will these hours count towards my ACA or PACFA renewal?

Every monthly session includes a full hour of structured group supervision with an ACA Supervisor, in a group of no more than 6. That gives you 12 hours of group supervision a year, which covers the 10-hour annual minimum. If you have more than 400 client hours a year, PACFA asks for 15 hours, and Circle Plus gives you 16.

What happens in the topic hour?

Each month we dig into one practical topic, from boundaries and risk to fees and burnout. It's a conversation, not a lecture, and it often sets up the cases we bring to supervision in hour two. The topic hour is professional development, so check your association's guidelines for logging it as CPD.

Is this group or individual supervision?

Group supervision, once a month. Circle Plus adds a 1:1 session with me every quarter, and any member can book extra 1:1 sessions at $140.

What if I miss a session?

You can join the other group that month if a seat is free. The aim is to stay with your own group as much as possible, because that's where the trust builds.

I'm nervous about presenting a case. Do I have to?

Not straight away. Plenty of people listen for a session or two first. You'll learn a lot from other people's cases, and when you're ready to bring your own, the group will be there.

I'm a life coach. Is this for me?

Yes. You won't need ACA or PACFA hours, but you'll get solid support with ethics, boundaries, tricky client situations and knowing when to refer.

Is this therapy?

No. Supervision focuses on your client work and your professional growth. If something personal comes up, I'll help you find the right support.

I'm not in Perth. Can I still join?

Absolutely. Sessions are on Zoom and run on Perth time (AWST), so check the time where you are before you choose your group.

Can I cancel, or get a refund?

Memberships are non-refundable. Monthly memberships can be cancelled anytime with 30 days' notice. Annual memberships are paid upfront for the year.

Can I claim this as a business expense?

Supervision and professional development are often deductible for practitioners, but check with your accountant for your situation.

You don't have to do this work alone.

Pick your group, and I'll see you in the Circle.

PS. Each group is capped at 6, so once a time slot fills, it's waitlist only.

PS. Not ready to commit? Grab a casual seat for $95 and see what the Circle feels like from the inside.
